Overview:

Our Overweight Blood Test is a blood test panel to find medical causes of being overweight as well as showing the effects of being overweight on the body. 

People can become overweight from hormonal imbalance which can be corrected, e.g. thyroid issues. Being overweight can also trigger changes in the body, such as insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol, which increase the risk of illness. The Overweight Blood Test checks for both the causes and effects of weight gain.

What the Overweight Blood Test Includes:

TSH, Free T4, Free T3, Antibodies (thyroglobulin, TPO)

Leptin, Adiponectin and Resistin

Cholesterol profile, Apolipoproteins and Lipoprotein (a)

Glucose, HbA1c, Insulin, C-peptide

Measures low levels of inflammation

Preparation Required:

  • Fasting: Fasting is not strictly required. It has only a slight effect on your cholesterol results. However, it will give you more accurate triglyceride (a type of fat) results, and is required for a fasting glucose test. In these cases, you should fast for 8-10 hours before the test; you can drink water without any problem.
  • Medications: Continue to take any prescribed medications as usual, unless advised otherwise.

  2. You will get a confirmation email from us.
  3. We will process your order within an hour; Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.
  4. Then, look out for the booking link email from our partner laboratory, Randox Health.
  5. Click on the link to book an appointment for your test.
  6. Attend to do your test.
  7. Results are emailed to you.

All laboratories need information regarding the client to uniquely identify their test sample.

Without these details, tests cannot be processed.

The minimum requirement is the full name, biological sex and date of birth.
