  • Women taking hormonal contraception or HRT: This can affect the test and it is better to stop these before the test until periods return to their normal pattern. Make sure to use other contraceptive methods during this time.
  • Fasting: Fasting is not required for this test. 
  • Medications: Continue to take any prescribed medications as usual, unless advised otherwise.
