  • Urine collection: A midstream sample of urine is required for this test to avoid contamination. Start to urinate into the toilet for a few seconds. Then without stopping the stream, place the container under the urine to collect it. Finish urinating into the toilet. 
  • Fasting: No fasting is required for this test.
  • Medications: Continue to take any prescribed medications as usual unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
  • Hydration: Maintain your usual fluid intake before the test.
  • Menstruation: Women should avoid urine collection during menstruation, if possible, to prevent contamination.
